Office Hours
Hours of operation are Monday-Friday,
8:00a.m.-5:00p.m.
If the nurse is not in the office, Student Development can assist you. |
Emergency Situations
Any commuting student, faculty, or staff member who encounters a
medical emergency while on campus may call upon Student Health Services
for assistance.
In cases of extreme emergency,
call (8) 911 for immediate medical attention. |
|
Student Health Services advocates a holistic approach toward health,
which includes the student's physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Extensive use of the resources offered in the Gainesville community
augment the services provided on campus. Medical care is available
to residential Women's College and Academy students. |
Required
Health Form
Upon acceptance and registration, Brenau Women's College and Academy
require that a completed health form, including current immunizations, be
on file at Student Health Services. Students not in compliance will be
unable to attend class or use Student Health. |
Services include:
- examination by the nurse when students
are ill or injured
- assessment and evaluation
- counseling
- assistance with referral for further
medical treatment and assistance with chronic health problems.
A doctor, under contract with the
University, visits on Wednesdays, 12:00-1:00 p.m., to attend to students'
health needs and to provide medical coverage and assistance to the nurse
director. A Gyn Clinic is available the second and fourth Thursday of each
month from 1:00-4:00 p.m. |
Evening and
Weekend Medical Assistance
Routine health needs should be handled during regular office hours. If a
student has a non-emergency medical need during evenings and weekends,
there is a supervisor available between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. The
supervisor can be reached by calling the pager number or the Student
Health Services number. The pager number will be given to C.A.'s, the
Coordinators, and college personnel.
