SIFE,
Students In Free Enterprise, was founded on Brenau’s campus in January
2004, and became recognized in April. Our Sam Walton Fellow, Dr. Gregory
Chase began recruiting not only business majors but students in education,
theatre, and mass communications. SIFE is a global, non-profit
organization that is changing the world.
In SIFE, members practice and
teach the principles of free enterprise, as well as the foundation of
market economics, entrepreneurship, personal and financial success, and
business ethics through outreach projects practiced within Brenau and the
community. Every year SIFE members attend competition where we present the
projects we have successfully completed.
In 2004, Brenau’s SIFE team
received the “Rookie of the Year” award. In 2005, Brenau's
SIFE team also received Second Runner Up at the Atlanta
Regional Competition. As a SIFE team, we have been awarded a $5,000 grant
from the Marcus Foundation and a $1,000 grant from HSBC Financial Literacy
Grant.
Each year our SIFE team continues to grow larger and larger. If you are
interested in joining this awesome team, contact one of the executives on
the members page and we will be glad for you to become part of our team.
